I consider myself an expert in making bad decisions. It’s the kind of expertise that only comes with many years of practice. You have to make a conscious choice and stick with it, undaunted by the consequences, because it’s so easy to just float along making the right decisions. Everyone else is doing it, and there are hordes of people and books telling you how you can do it too. It simplifies things. But if you’re not careful, you might end up with a lovely wife, perfect children, a great job, a big house, and plenty of money. In that case, of course, you will be completely miserable.
